Thoughtful Design for Urban Spaces

We understand the unique challenges and opportunities of holiday decorating in city homes, and we're dedicated to making the season feel special regardless of square footage.

Our Story

Evergreen Studio began in a 600-square-foot Toronto apartment where our founder struggled to create holiday atmosphere without overwhelming the space or violating lease terms. That experience revealed a gap in the market: urban residents wanted seasonal beauty but faced practical constraints that traditional decorating services didn't address.

What started as personal problem-solving evolved into a specialized service focused entirely on the realities of city living. We learned that apartment and condo dwellers don't need scaled-down versions of suburban solutions—they need different thinking altogether. Vertical space utilization, removable mounting methods, storage-conscious selections, and building regulation compliance became our areas of expertise.

Today, we serve individual clients across Toronto and work with property management teams on building-wide projects. Every solution reflects our founding principle: beautiful holiday spaces should be accessible to everyone, regardless of home size or rental status. We believe thoughtful design and practical logistics can coexist, creating seasonal environments that feel both festive and authentic to urban life.

Our approach has evolved through years of working in various building types, learning from client feedback, and staying current with urban design trends. We're not just decorators—we're problem-solvers who happen to work with holiday aesthetics. The satisfaction comes from seeing clients relax into their spaces, knowing the decorations enhance rather than complicate their homes.

Our Mission & Values

Accessibility

Holiday beauty shouldn't require homeownership or abundant square footage. We create solutions that work within the practical and financial realities of urban living.

Respect

We honor both your space and your lease agreement. Every installation method is designed to leave no trace, protecting your security deposit and building relationships.

Practicality

Beautiful design must also be functional. Storage, maintenance, and post-season handling are considered from the beginning, not as afterthoughts.

Authenticity

Your holiday environment should reflect your personal style, not cookie-cutter trends. We listen carefully to create spaces that feel genuinely yours.

Quality Standards

Damage-Free Installation

All mounting methods use removable adhesives, tension systems, or furniture-based support. We never drill, nail, or permanently attach anything to rental surfaces. Your walls, doors, and ceilings remain exactly as we found them.

Storage Solutions

Every package includes appropriately sized containers that fit standard closet shelving. Items are organized and labeled for straightforward next-year setup. Optional storage service available for clients who prefer hands-off management.

Building Compliance

We review and follow building-specific regulations regarding balcony use, common area decoration, and installation timing. Property managers and condo boards can trust our work to meet all requirements.

Why Urban Spaces Are Different

Decorating an apartment or condo for the holidays presents distinct considerations that don't apply to house decorating. Limited square footage means every item must earn its place, contributing meaningfully to the atmosphere without creating visual clutter or physical obstacles. Vertical space becomes valuable real estate when floor area is constrained.

Rental agreements introduce another layer of planning. The decorations that work beautifully in owned homes—nailed wreaths, screwed-in hooks, permanently mounted displays—often violate lease terms and risk security deposits. Urban decorating requires creative mounting solutions that provide secure installation without surface damage.

Storage challenges are particularly acute in city living. Unlike suburban homes with basements and garages, apartments offer limited storage space where every item stored displaces something else. Post-season storage planning isn't optional—it's essential. We design with this reality in mind, selecting pieces that pack efficiently and providing containers sized for realistic storage locations.

Building regulations add complexity to the process. Shared hallways, balcony restrictions, elevator access, loading dock scheduling, and installation timing all require coordination that individual decorators might not anticipate. Our experience navigating these requirements ensures smooth projects and satisfied property managers.

These aren't obstacles to overcome—they're design parameters that shape better solutions. Urban holiday decorating, done thoughtfully, creates environments that feel abundant and festive while respecting the practical realities of city life. That's the balance we pursue in every project.
